DESFA Compressor Station in Komotini
Civil, mechanical and E&I works for the DESFA compressor station in Komotini: equipment, piping and steel erection, building finishes and control systems.
At DESFA's natural gas compressor station in Komotini, SEMAC carried out the civil, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation works on behalf of Bonatti, from October 2023 to January 2026.
The works covered the whole site: the electrical control building, warehouse and guardhouse; erection of the static and rotating equipment, the steel structures and the pipe supports; prefabrication and erection of the piping, with non-destructive testing, sandblasting and a complete painting cycle; and the pressure tests.
On the electrical side, our team installed switchgear, transformers, MCCs, UPS systems and a power management system, earthing and lighting, heat tracing and cathodic protection, security and communication systems (CCTV, access control, PAGA), fire and gas detection and HVAC, and supported pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up of the station.

On-site building works for the electrical control building, warehouse and guardhouse Reinforced concrete structures, roofing, external and internal wall finishes, ceilings and flooring Supply and installation of doors, windows, glazing, louvres, parapets, handrails and chain-link fences Plumbing and electrical systems HDPE pipelines with valves and fittings for the fire water, oily water and potable water systems
Mechanical works
Erection of static and rotating equipment; material receiving and handling Piping prefabrication and erection Non-destructive testing: VT, RT, UT and PT Sandblasting and a complete painting cycle for all piping Erection of all steel structures and pipe supports Installation tests, such as pressure tests Finishing works: internal cleaning, flange management and touch-up painting Assistance during pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up
Electrical and instrumentation works
Switchgear, transformers, PCs, motor control centres (MCC), auxiliary systems, UPS systems and batteries, and a power management system (PMS) Earthing and lightning protection, and lighting systems Power cable pulling and connections, cable trays and conduits, and bulk materials such as power sockets, control stations and boxes Heat tracing and cathodic protection Control systems, access control, CCTV and intrusion alarm systems Public address and general alarm (PAGA) and telephone systems Field instruments, and installation and testing of control, on-off and safety valves Instrument cable pulling and connections, and junction boxes Building systems: telecoms, fire and gas (F&G), electrical systems and structured cabling, including material supply Installation and testing of HVAC systems
